Jessica Mendoza

Senior Associate Attorney

Jessica Mendoza is a Senior Associate Attorney with The Mundaca Law Firm. Her practice focuses on labor and employment, business law, consulting, and crisis management throughout Washington, D.C., New York, Virginia, Maryland, and Texas.

Jessica is dedicated to ensuring fairness and accountability in the workplace. Jessica has a proven track record of successful results litigating employment law cases involving claims of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, retaliation, non-selection, reasonable accommodations, among others. With a strong foundation in labor and employment law, Jessica represents both employees and businesses in a wide range of legal matters. In addition, due to her extensive federal employment experience, the firm strengthens its ability to support both private and federal sector clients.

Prior to joining the Mundaca Law Firm, Jessica was a litigation attorney with the Office of the General Counsel at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) defending Title VII cases before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In that role Jessica provided legal advice and counsel to agencies of the USDA, and served as liaison between agencies of the USDA and the Department of Justice in employment litigation matters pending before federal district courts.

Before working at the USDA, Jessica completed the prestigious Honors Program with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). As an Honors Attorney, Jessica gained in depth knowledge of the litigation process that begins after filing an unfair labor practice charge. After completing the Honors Program Jessica became a trial attorney with the Contempt, Compliance, and Special Litigation Branch at the NLRB where she handled special litigation matters, some involving corporate and bankruptcy law, and conducted civil contempt proceedings to enforce compliance with Board orders. She also has experience in federal appellate oral advocacy as she successfully represented the NLRB before the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

While in law school, Jessica was selected as a Peggy Browning Fellow and was placed with the Office of General Counsel at the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, a labor union made up of 1.3 million members in the U.S. and Canada. Her advocacy for workplace justice began while competing in the ABA Labor and Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition. During her judicial internship at the Appellate Court of Maryland with the honorable Judge Douglas R. M. Nazarian, Jessica gained experience researching complex legal issues, analyzing party briefs, and drafting judicial opinions involving contract disputes.

Jessica prides herself on ensuring that her clients receive excellent legal advice so that they can make informed decisions during difficult situations. Her experience provides for a supportive environment for her clients while zealously advocating for their interests.

Jessica is also a native Spanish speaker. She was born in Peru, grew up in Argentina, and moved to the United States as a teen. Outside of her legal practice, Jessica enjoys horse riding, dancing, and traveling.
